The Riviera Edit: Six Frames for Long Summer Days
Share
Some places have a light of their own. The Côte d’Azur is one of them: pale stone, blue water, palm trees and a lot of sun. We named a handful of frames after it, and gathered them in The Riviera Edit.
Cannes and Saint Tropez
Minimalism, with attitude. Both are frameless, with flat colourful lenses in nylon and light metallic arms. The Cannes has a round shape, the Saint Tropez a cat-eye. Wear them with linen and nothing else.
Monaco and Nice
Two square acetate frames with polarized lenses. The Monaco is big and confident, the Nice a little more versatile. Both come in a range of colours, from deep tortoiseshell to brighter tones.
Croisette
A classic cat-eye in solid acetate with polarized lenses, named after the famous seafront promenade. The Croisette comes in a long list of colourways, so there’s probably one for every mood.
Cassis
Big, round and playful. The Cassis has polarized lenses and a water-repellent coating, in colours that go from transparent rose to demi brown.
How to wear the Riviera
- Keep the rest of the outfit simple and let the frame do the talking.
- Mirrored lenses for the harbour, tortoiseshell for the terrace.
- Always pack a soft case. Salt and sand are hard on lenses.
